This morning everyone was looking for Rick. Not because we needed him for anything urgent, just little random things here and there. But calls went to voice mail and texts got no response. At 11:45am when MJ went to pick up Parker (my daughter and her second granddaughter) here is where she found him:

The guys are doing some minor repairs in and around Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Webster Groves, the church our family has atteneded for over 30 years (and where Parker goes to preschool), and Rick decided to join the party!

Good to see him with a tool belt on!

The other day Parker, my four year old, wanted to paint on some wood so we asked Paw Paw if he could give us a piece of scrap wood from the shop. I had my camera in my hand so I asked them if I could take a photo of them with their wood.

That's when my crazy 4 year old started doing her favorite poses and my dad played along!

One of the best parts of working for Rick and Mary Jane Kuhn is that they treat their employees like family. We ARE a family. For 40 hours a week we rely on one another, work together, disagree and laugh. And so when one of our guys leaves for new adventures we are equal parts sad to see him go and happy for his new journey.

Phil's last day was on Friday and it was so hard to say goodbye, but OH MAN does he have a great adventure he's starting! He accepted a new job as facilities manager at his church, Faith Church. As sad as we are to see him go and as quiet as it is around the office without him here, we are thrilled that he'll be doing something he's so passionate about.

But there is one little lady who will especially miss Phil! Parker Jane.

Of course all three of my kids love him, these two just had a special relationship it seemed.

Phil's going to have to stop by from time to time so the kids can see him! And us too of course!

What happens when a beautiful magnolia tree gets whipped around in a strong wind and bumps into a chimney?

The crazy heavy (400+lbs) and crazy strong and incredibly well-built chimney cap gets destroyed!

Can you belive that destruction?

Luckily we know some guys that can fix it!
